Wrinkles

The formation of wrinkle in the skin can be promoted by habitual facial expressions, the skins intrinsic ageing, sun damage, smoking, poor hydration, and various other factors. Fine lines and wrinkles appear as a result of irregular thickening of the dermis and the epidermis being less hydrated. This is primarily caused be the skins exposure to the UV radiation of sunlight and exposure to chemical factors such as those derived from smoking. Deeper lines or furrows are a ‘dynamic’ when they appear as different facial muscles move, or ‘static when they remain unchanged by muscle activation. Over time, dynamic lines become static furrows such as “crow’s feet”, “worry lines”, “frown lines” and “smile lines”. As the skin loses collagen and elastin wrinkles form. These proteins are responsible for our skin’s elasticity; our bodies produce less of them as we age.

How to achieve a ‘no trace face’

One of the best ways to delay the appearance of wrinkles is to use an SPF to protect your skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays, stop smoking, and drink plenty of water to hydrate and to follow a good skin care routine, preferably one that uses a deep acting moisturiser. Our dermatologists and medical aestheticians can offer advanced treatments to target wrinkles and lines, without the need for surgery. They achieve a ‘no trace face’ via a bespoke treatment programme that may use medical grade peels, injectables, Fusion SLR facials and Regenlite laser treatments.

Treatment options include:

  • Dermatology consultation and prescription
  • Injectables
  • Medical grade facials and chemical peels
  • Regenlite laser by Chromogenex
  • Fusion SLR facials by Chromogenex

See more in our treatment pages.

FOCUS ON: Regenlite laser treatments will boost the collagen production and content for your skin and can be used by our medical aestheticians and dermatologists to give you highly effective treatments to rejuvenate, firm and lift your skin, smoothing out wrinkles and improving colour with no downtime. Another excellent option is Fusion SLR (sound wave laser rejuvenation) which targets three layers of the skin, exfoliating dead skin from the surface to improve skin texture and promote new cell growth. Then infusing hyaluronic acid into the skin’s mid layer replenishes depleted hyaluronic to plump up the skin smoothing out lines and wrinkles, and finally using infra-red light technology to tighten the skin and promote collagen production firming and lifting the skin.
