Acne

Acne treatment

Everyone gets the occasional spot but we all know that widespread, persistent acne is a completely different thing. And because acne usually (but not exclusively) affects teenagers and young adults, it’s often dismissed  as ‘something you’ll grow out of’.

Here at ethos we understand how debilitating acne can really be. Not only can the spots – and, in some more severe cases, cysts and nodules – be unsightly and uncomfortable, they can also have a profound psychological impact on our confidence, self-esteem and social life. If that wasn’t enough, once the spots fade the resulting scars can be just as bad…or even worse.

Let’s face it: acne is absolutely no fun. You may already have tried any number of over-the-counter lotions and potions, or even been prescribed antibiotics.
The good news is that you’re reading this, so you’ve already taken the first step to finding a solution. We can treat almost every case of acne and scarring with a combination of state-of-the-art technology, top quality products and expert advice from leading consultant dermatologists.

There’s some useful and interesting information on the rest of this page and elsewhere on this website but the best next step is to get in touch with us. We appreciate that facing up to acne can be embarrassing but please bear in mind that, in the world of dermatology, we’ve seen it all before!

For a friendly, introductory chat, just give us a call or fill in the enquiry form on this page. Remember, it doesn’t have to be like this!

FOCUS ON: Our most advanced Regenlite laser treatment, based on a revolutionary laser technique for biostimulation without damage or the need for aggressive chemical removal of skin, scars and tissue. Independently or in conjunction with Fusion dermabrasion, this produces excellent results in as little as three treatments, without any downtime, redness or discomfort.

The importance of a balanced diet

Research into the relationship between diet and acne offers conflicting results, but it is clear that although particular foods do not cause acne we do need good nutrition to help our skin resist infection and heal.

Our nutritional dieticians can help you determine the diet that is right for you and your condition to maximise the effects of the treatment you are receiving from us.
